Hotel Tech Stack Review: When Your Tools Are the Problem, Not the Data

Most hotel tech stacks were assembled over time, not designed. The result is a collection of systems that each do one thing adequately and nothing end-to-end.

A hotel tech stack review means systematically auditing every technology system your commercial team depends on — PMS, channel manager, rate shopping tool, CRS, RMS, BI platform, CRM — and assessing whether each is delivering the commercial value that justifies its cost. The questions to ask: Does this system integrate cleanly with the others?

Is the data it produces accurate and accessible? Does it support the decisions we need to make?

Is it replacing manual work or creating it? Tech stack bloat is a real problem in hospitality — hotels often pay for tools that overlap in function, fail to integrate, or require more manual intervention than the process they replaced.
